He is  from a large family and is the last out of 6 children.

Wizkid started singing at age 11; he sang in his church's choir and released a 7 track album entitled "Lil Prinz". Wizkid's first song featured one of Nigeria's celebrated musical icon, OJB Jezreel.
Ever Since 2006, Wizkid songs got continuous radio plays and repeat, while He himself enjoyed collaboration with the talented artistes but it was not until 2009 when this young guy got his first major break in the music industry fully – according to wizkid twitter handle, His collaboration with one of Nigeria’s best and respected rappers and MCs-MI Abaga, on “fast money fast cars” track gave him a boost and drew major attention to is unique voice and nice style.

His first TV commercial was tagged “Turn by turn” by Kel’s which became Barceló’s radio jingle today.

He signed a multi-million cash deal with the Banky’s Empire Mates Entertainment {EME}, a recording label owned and managed by R&B artistes cum producer and manager- Bank W, in 2009.

He has continued to release good and enjoyable songs with EME records since 2009, his music career has gone vir*l beyond the chores of Nigerian corners especially with his several international stage performances and collaboration with international stars such as Young Jeezy, Akon, Kardinal Official, and to mention just a few.

Early 2010, Ayo Balogun or wizkid fully broke into the music industry with full force with the release of his hard and hot hit singles; “Holla at your boy”, “Don’t dull” and “Tease me”. Wizkid debut album- “Super star” was released in early 2011 and in June 2011,and also he performed numerous sold-out concerts in Nigeria, UK, and the United States as well.

The Latest news on wizkid is that he has left EME records and he is now his own boss, and 2 months ago he broke up with his girl friend Tania Omotayo.The talented singer recently release 2 songs at once but i only remember one now, on the track he feature rapper Phyno and the name of the track is Bombay
